Challenge 2: Mexico

Challenge #2 was to create a card using the influences of Mexico.

I used strips of various colors of paper to create a Mexican blanket look.

The focal point uses quilt squares from Quilter's Sampler which I colored with gel pens. A Mexican exchange student in college gave me a bookmark with images colored with chalks, so I sort of recreated that pop of pastels using the gel pens.

Oh, I also fringed the edges of the paper strips for my "blanket". The sentiment is from Everyday Classics (anniversary 2).

You and I had the same thought - a Mexican blanket! I posted mine late last night and I finally am now looking through the cards. Yours is so great, especially witht the tile designs on it!
