PTI January Blog Hop

Greetings! Tonight is the January blog hop with PaperTrey Ink and this month's challenge was to build up the birthday card stash. I decided to play around with Heather Nichols' latest stamp set, Around & About Sentiments.

I ended up having to work some this weekend, so my card is pretty simple. First I stamped the round "happy birthday to you" sentiment in dark chocolate on aqua mist cardstock. Then I stamped a solid circle (included with the set) with aqua mist in the center (hard to see in the photos). I punched out the image with a 1.5" Fiskars squeeze punch, added a flower brad to the center, and inked the edges. Three of these circles on a stitched berry sorbet panel complete the card front. The card itself is dark chocolate cardstock with an aqua mist panel framing the design. Finally I added tiny yellow flocked stickers to the corners (to hide my messy stitching!).

Another sweater purse, and lots more

I have five posts today so hang on to your knickers! I'm catching up from the past month.

I made this sweater purse for Scott's mom for Christmas. I think it's the best one yet... the velvet straps make it a little more adult-ish.

Fleece Snow Babies

I made a few of these for Christmas gifts. Some had crocheted hats and scarves and others had fleece accessories. I put rice in the butts to try to keep them standing upright.

Crochet Mary Jane Skimmers

These slippers are great for puttering around on the hardwoods. I used Vanna's Choice yarn for these. I'm not modelling because they ended up being a little too small for me. I'm anxious to make another pair that fit. The pattern can be found here.

Crochet Christmas Bunting

I learned to crochet over the holidays... I had been eyeing this on Alicia Paulson's blog and decided to order the pattern here.

I have it hanging on our new barstools for the picture. Next year we'll hang it on the mantle.

If you decide to make this, let me warn you the poinsettias take a LOT longer than I expected. But it's worth it.

Snowman Pops

The hats are peanut butter cups, earmuffs are mini m&m's...

Savannah is caught with a headless snowman... Brandon is already feeling the effects.

Excuses

I didn't forget I have a blog... the holidays were busy, then my laptop got a virus and was out of commission for a couple weeks, and I lost all the pictures on it. I will post something soon!
